Ann Gold 

Mrs. Ann Carroll Herndon Gold, 78 of  Rollingwood Drive passed away on December 3, 2009 at Hospice Cleveland County.  Ann was born on October 2, 1931 in Cleveland County to the late Joseph Henry Carroll, Jr. and Carrie Lefler Carroll.

 She attended Lenoir Rhyne College for two years, She retired from Bernhardt Furniture after 27 years of service.  She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, and a Circle member.  Ann loved her church family and friends very much.  She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.  She has gone to be with her heavenly Father. 

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Al Herndon, two sons, Gerald “Red” Herndon and Alan Herndon and one brother; Joseph “Joe” Carroll, III.

 She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years,  John Thomas “Tom” Gold of the home,  son John “Fox” Herndon and fiancée Freda Tolley of Shelby, stepsons:  Jerry Gold and fiancée Pat Ross of Lincolnton, and Roger Gold and wife Chris of Conover.  Her very loving grandchildren:  Carroll Herndon and wife Elizabeth of Cary, NC, Johnathan Herndon of Shelby and step grandchildren Eric Gold and wife Jessie of Maiden, NC and Hannah Gold of Conover, NC, and a great nephew:  Joseph Jody Carroll V. 

 Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at l:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Leland Kerr and Mr. David G. Blanton officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:30-l:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church.  Internment will follow at Grover Cemetery.
