Nell Carroll

Mrs. Nell Roberts Carroll, 86, of   Summit Place in Kings Mountain, passed away on December 21, 2009 at Kings Mountain Hospital.   

 Nell was born on May 25, 1923 in Shelby to the late Ben Logan and Katherine Borders Roberts.  For over a decade she was employed by Cleveland Regional Medical Center.  She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.  She enjoyed yard work and loved spending time with her family. 

 In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband:  Max McDaniel Carroll, Sr.; her brothers:  Josh Roberts, George Roberts, John Logan Roberts; sister; Mary Roberts Bridges, stepson, Charles J. Carroll and grandson James Daniel Carroll.

 Nell is survived by her loving sons:  Max M.Carroll Jr. and wife Kathy of Shelby, Patrick R. Carroll and wife Sally of Spartanburg, and Thomas E. Carroll and wife Carol of Winston Salem.  Her brothers:  Ed Roberts of Shelby, Jerry Roberts of Kings Mountain, and sisters: Dorothy Campbell of Shelby, Eva Harrill of Lawndale and Betty Galimore of Atlanta, Ga., her granddaughters:  Jennifer Carroll Besterman, Amy Carroll, Jessica Carroll Huellmantel, and Natalya Carroll; grandsons:  Patrick R. Carroll, Jr. and Josh M.Carroll, and eleven great grandchildren.

 Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby with the Dr. Rit Varriale.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 -12:45 pm on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby.
