Dr. Charles E. Moss
Dr. Charles E. Moss, 76, of Bettis Road, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 5, 1933, in Cherokee County, to late Forrest and Agnes Moss. Charles graduated from Limestone College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been in the ministry for 55 years, presently serving as pastor of Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Blacksburg, S.C. He enjoyed reading and visiting his church family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy B. Moss. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sybil J. Moss; his son, Scott Moss and wife, Vickye, of Boiling Springs; daughter, Kimberly McSwain and husband, Rodney, of Duncan, S.C.; sisters, Alice Lavender, Ruth Plemmons, Sara Jean Thomas and husband, Ralph, Katherine Moss and Ramona Whitaker of Gaffney, S.C.; his loving grandchildren, Kaila Starnes and husband, Allen, of Lyman, S.C., Katie McSwain of Duncan and Michelle Moss of Gaffney; great-granddaughters, Jeanna Smith, Grace Starnes and Breanna Smith; and step-great-grandson, Austin Lail.
Memorial Service: Thursday, Aug. 6, 3 p.m., Mt. Paran Baptist Church
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour before the service, at the church and other times the family will be at the home, 2874 Bettis Road, Earl.
