Mr.
Randy Scott Yelton, 51, of 1418 S. Post Road, Apt. 1, died Thursday, July 23,
2009, at home. He was born in Cleveland County, a son of Elizabeth B. Yelton of Shelby and the late Phillip H. Yelton.
He was a 1977 graduate of Shelby High School and Isothermal Community College with a Certified Electrician degree. Before becoming disabled he worked as an electrician. He was of the Baptist faith and was saved at Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed racing, the Dallas Cowboys, sports, fishing and loved his family and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Torry Yelton.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Phillip Allen Yelton and wife, Kimberly, of Burlington, Kan., and Tony Lee Yelton and wife, Birtha, of Kings Mountain; sister, Lori Yelton Donahue of Shelby; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins; and his very special friends, Debbie Dowd of Shelby and her son, Timmy Dowd.
The family will receive friends at his mother's home, Elizabeth Yelton at 934 West Warren Manor, Apt. 2A, Shelby, on Sunday, July 26, from 3 to 7 p.m.
The family will have a private service.
