Susie (Cash) Leonhart

Mrs Susie Cash Leonhart, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was a resident of Peak Resources in Shelby, and former resident of Colonial Manor.  

     She was born in Hall County, Georgia on April 19, 1928 to the late Early Lexus and May Owen Cash.   She had worked in textiles.  She was a member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church, Shelby.  She enjoyed working puzzles, reading, watching Police television shows, and spending time with her grandbabies and great grandbabies. 

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband Buford Bishop Leonhart, Brothers:  Marion Cash, and Billy Cash, Sister:  Betty Cash Pheagin, Daughter:  Marla Karen Scott, and Granddaughter:  Dana Leigh Scott.

    She is survived by her son: Darrell Haywood Carpenter and wife Mary of Gaffney, SC, Daughters: Sandra Gossett and husband Bobby of Shelby and Nannette Bumbaugh and husband Jerry of Grover, NC.  Her sister:  Clara Mae Rider of Winder, Ga.  Six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary of  Putnam Memorial  Baptist Church .  Services will be held at 3:00 pm at Putnam Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Glisson. 

Burial will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Friendship Church Cemetery, in Buford, Ga.
