Betty H. Morgan

Betty Jean Hollifield Morgan, 74, of Shelby, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Bulo Jesse Hollifield and Frances Helen Hollifield. Mrs. Morgan retired from Cleveland Regional Medical Center where she was a nurse for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and spent many hours volunteering at the Senior Center and Hospice of Cleveland County. She loved to travel, gardening and taking care of others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Charles Morgan, Jr., and by three brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her son, Steve Morgan and his wife, Debbie, of Hayesville; two brothers, Tommy Hollifield and wife, Joyce, and Tony Hollifield and wife, Frances (all of Marion); a sister, Delzora Harris of Marion; two grandsons, Adam Morgan of Chicago and Alex Morgan of Hayesville; and by a beloved friend, Bruce Walker of Shelby.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Monday, Nov. 9, from 6 until 7:30 p.m.

Funeral: Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Church Officiated by: Revs. David Rabb and Dan Wallace

Burial: Sunset Cemetery
