Margaret Ridings

Mrs. Margaret Janet Honeycutt Ridings, 77, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on March 31, 1932, to the late Lloyd Albert Honeycutt and Bertha Gosnell Honeycutt. Mrs. Ridings graduated from Harris High School in Rutherford County, where she met the love of her life, her husband, Earl. She was a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to can and freeze the produce grown in her garden. She loved to sew and enjoyed art. She enjoyed shopping and loved to watch birds. Mrs. Ridings is survived by her husband, Earl Ridings; son, Michael Lee Ridings of Mooresboro; daughters, Debbie Humphries and husband, Steve, of Mooresboro and Rhonda Ruff and husband, Keith, of Shelby; brother, J.R. Honeycutt of Boiling Springs; sisters, Juanita Price of Blue Ridge, S.C., Betty Jo Godfrey and husband, Raleigh, of Forest City and Ann Pennington of Mooresboro; grandchildren, Tina Earls and husband, Shane, of Shelby, Tessy Humphries of Mooresboro, Torrie Hicks and husband, Stephen, of Gaffney, S.C., Mitchell Ruff and wife, Traci, of Canton and Misty Easler and husband, Jason of Shelby; 11great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Pauline Justice of Rutherfordton.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 17, 6 to 8 p.m., at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory.

Funeral: Wednesday, Nov. 18, 3 p.m., Patterson Springs Baptist Church Officiated by: The Rev. Steve Waters
