Ann Marie Dolan Bridges

Mrs. Ann Marie Dolan “Granny” Bridges, 68, of Grover, North Carolina, died on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.  A native of Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Lily MacLachlan Dolan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Deaver Joseph Bridges, and by her twin granddaughters, Patricia and Shaunda Burnette.   Mrs. Bridges was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kings Mountain.  She also was a member of the Cleveland County Choral Society.  She participated in the Community Theater in Shelby and Gastonia.  Mrs. Bridges was an Oblate of St. Benedict at Belmont Abbey and was active in the programs of the Senior Center.  Mrs. Bridges loved sewing, crocheting, traveling and being around her family and friends.

Brother:                        Donald Dolan and wife Linda of West Warwick, RI

Sister:                           Dorothy Johnson of Cranston, RI

Great-Grandchildren:    5

The family will receive friends at the Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.  A funeral mass celebrating the life of Mrs. Bridges will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kings Mountain at 11 AM with the Rev. Fr. Michael Kottar officiating.  Burial will follow the funeral mass.
