Janie Long
Mrs.
Janie Ruth Watts Long passed away on Sunday, Sept.13, 2009, at White Oak Manor
in Kings Mountain, after an extended illness. She was born in Uvaldia,
Montgomery County, Ga., on June 12, 1938, to the late Ethern E. Watts and Minnie
Mae Hall Watts Hurst and stepdaughter of the late Noel A. Hurst. She was
election supervisor of Precinct 42 in Mount Holly for a number of years and was
an office manager for LPL Associates, Inc. Later she and her husband were
managers for Motel 6 at various locations around the southeast. She retired from
Wal-Mart as a cashier/greeter in the Garden Center in Shelby. She was a member
of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Holly. In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Jane Long; brother, Eugene
Watts; and sister, Robbie Jean Watts. She is survived by her husband of 53
years, David W. Long; daughter, Karen Denise Sisk and her husband, Russell, of
Mt. Holly; daughter, Rhonda Sue Hill of Charlotte; grandson, Jake Davis of Cary;
sister, Minnie Ethel Gray of Port Wentworth, Ga.; several nieces and nephews;
and many friends and other relatives whose friendship and love she cherished.
The family will be at the home, 103 Warrenton Court, Shelby.
