Shirley Allen

Mrs. Shirley Ramsey Allen, 74, of Bethlehem Church Road, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at home. She was born Aug. 14, 1935, in Cherokee County, S.C., to the late Basil Ramsey and Mae Eaker Ramsey Kiser. She retired from CNC Machine Company in Kings Mountain and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, gardening, traveling and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee S. Allen; and sister, Evelyn Ramsey Leslie. She is survived by her loving husband, James F. Allen of the home; her daughter, Tracy Kiser of Grover; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carlene and Phillip Enfinger of Monroe, Ga.; sister-in-law, Betty Allen of Grover; grandchildren, Kimberly Messer and husband, Douglas, of Blacksburg, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Amber Holcomb and husband, William, of Gaffney, S.C., and Sierrah and Dakota Messer of Blacksburg; great-great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Mason Holcomb; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 12, 5 to 6 p.m., at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
