Aaron Hall Steelman, 78, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.  A native of Yadkin County, he was the son of the late George Herman and Maude Reavis Steelman.  He was also preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.  Mr. Steelman was retired from Container Corporation of America after forty-five years of employment.  He was a member of Westview Baptist Church and loved hunting, golf, and playing baseball.

Mr. Steelman is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Shirley Steelman; three daughters, Kathy Everett and husband Wayne of Shelby, Denise Hamrick and husband Roland of Shelby, Renee Steelman of Murrells Inlet, SC; one brother, R.L. Steelman and wife Betty of Yadkinville; four grandchildren, Rebecca James, Jenny Everett, Jacob Hamrick, and Erin Stroud; and one great grandchild, Jessi James.

A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  The Rev. Rick Bowling and Dr. Tracy Jessup will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00pm prior to the service.  Burial will be private at Cleveland Memorial Park.
