Betty Jean Drewery McSwain, 73, of 528 East Double Shoals Road, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. 

She was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Mary Ruth Sweezy Drewery.  She is also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Evelyn McSwain; a brother, Robert Drewery and a brother-in-law, Bobby Gene McSwain.

  Betty was a member of Double Shoals Baptist Church and loved her church and traveling. She was a lab technician with PPG for 28 years.

Mrs. McSwain is survived by her husband of 54 years,  Mitchell McSwain; two daughters, Angela McSwain Clark and husband, Scott of Shelby, Michelle Denise McSwain of Shelby; five sisters, Barbara Bridges and husband, John, Brenda Truelove, Rita Hastings, Pat Spangler and husband, Gene and Wanda Cooper; two brothers, Charles Drewery and Roger Drewery and wife Faye; a brother-in-law, Tom McSwain and wife, Rece; sister-in-law, Annie Ruth Brackett and husband, the Rev. Jim Brackett; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Jessica Clark.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael DeArment and staff for the wonderful care they provided.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cecil M.
