Viola B Morrison, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Hospice of Wendover. She was a native of Madison County and was the daughter of the late Ulysses Sanford and Mildred Allie Parker Blankenship. Also preceding her in death was her husband Jenkins Morrison; a daughter, Nancy M. Lovelace; five brothers; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. She graduated from Spring Creek High School in Hot Springs, NC. Mrs. Morrison loved sewing, crochet, growing flowers and gardening. She was the mother of eight and will be remembered as a wonderful loving mother. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shelby. Mrs. Morrison is survived by one son, Jimmy Morrison and wife Sandra of Shelby; six daughters, Jean Price of Shelby, Pat Champion and husband Bill of Shelby, Jackie Gold of Lattimore; Delores “Doodle” Webb of Boiling Springs, Kay Phillips and husband Jimmy of Boiling Springs, and Debbie Morrison and special friend Danny Bridges of Shelby; a sister Eva Tilley and husband Arnold of Maryville, TN; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life
service will be held at 11:00am Monday, July 11,
2011 at Elizabeth Baptist Church.
Burial will immediately follow in the
church cemetery.
Dr. Rit Varriale and Rev. Clint Padgett
will be officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00
– 8:00pm on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Cecil M.
Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
At other times the family will be at the
home of Debbie and Viola Morrison in Shelby. |
