Marjorie Chapman Edwards, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House.  A native of Cleveland County she was the daughter of the late Ambrose John and Maggie Pool Chapman. She was also preceded in death by her husband Flay Edwards.  Marjorie was retired from Lily Mills where she worked as a yarn inspector and packer.  She was a member of Northside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.  Marjorie loved gospel music, handcrafts, and crocheting.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her daughter, Diane Edwards Rains and husband Roger of the home; three grandchildren, Alenia Scism and husband Jimmy, Michael Brian Church and wife Susan all of Shelby, and Brian Rains of Bessemer City; five great grandchildren, Courtney Scism, Kimberly Church, Tabitha Church, Matthew Church, and Cynthia Lovelace; sister, Mildred Wilkerson of Frisco, Tx; two brothers, Charles Chapman and A.J. Chapman, both from Shelby; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  The Rev. Neal Efird will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30pm on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home.
