Richard C. Porter, 63, of Shelby NC passed away in his home on Monday, August 1, 2011 after his courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on June 4, 1948 in Ft. Myers, FL and relocated to NC in 2007.

He is survived by the love of his life Patricia and their three daughters Christine and her husband Tom , Amanda and her husband Chip and Ryan and her husband R.C. and 10 grandchildren.

He was an electrician by trade and after retiring spent his time crafting the woodworking projects that were his passion.  Richard will be missed  by all those who knew and loved him.
